Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 12 October 2026
These terms govern your booking and use of transport services provided by PICKU AUSTRALIA PTY LTD (ABN 38 670 095 511), trading as Byron Bay Transfers (“Byron Bay Transfers”, “we”, “us”). Byron Bay Transfers is an authorised NSW Booking Service Provider (BSP-439152).
By confirming a booking with us — online, by phone or by email — you agree to these terms.
1. Bookings & quotes
A booking is a request for a pre-arranged transfer at a quoted price. Quotes are generated by our booking system and shown to you before you pay; they are valid subject to availability at the time you confirm. Your booking is confirmed once payment is taken and you receive a confirmation email. We are a pre-arranged booking service, not a rank or hail service, and we are not common carriers.
It is your responsibility to give us accurate pickup and drop-off details, contact numbers and flight details, and to tell us promptly if any of them change. Charges may apply where a change is made late or where incorrect details cause a failed or extended pickup.
We may decline a booking, and our drivers may decline to begin or continue a trip, where doing so would be unsafe, unlawful, or in breach of these terms.
2. Payment
All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. The full fare is charged to your nominated payment method when you confirm your booking, and you receive a confirmation and tax invoice by email. Card details are handled by our payment processor; we do not see or store your full card number, security code or expiry date.
Surcharges may apply to bookings on public holidays, and to bookings beginning between 7:00 pm and 5:59 am. Where a surcharge applies, it is already included in the price shown to you before you pay. We reserve the right to pass on increases in airport charges, road and bridge tolls, entry fees and parking charges.
Additional charges — for example extra en-route stops, waiting time beyond the complimentary period, additional luggage or a trailer — may be charged to the payment method used to secure the booking. We will tell you before an additional charge is applied.
3. Cancellations
Cancellations and changes must be made at least 48 hours before the first leg of your transfer.
Bookings cancelled more than 48 hours before the first leg’s departure incur a per-leg cancellation fee of $25 or 10% of that leg’s fare, whichever is greater. Bookings cancelled within 48 hours are charged in full.
Booking and credit card fees are non-refundable once a booking is confirmed, regardless of when it is cancelled.
Timing is measured from when we receive your cancellation request, not from when it is actioned. Stricter cancellation terms may apply to weddings, events and other special-occasion bookings; where they do, we will tell you at the time of booking and those terms apply instead of this section.
4. Refunds
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method and may take up to 10 business days to appear. With your agreement, a refund may instead be applied as credit toward a future booking.
If we cancel your booking for any reason — for example a vehicle issue or driver unavailability — you receive a full refund of everything you paid, with no deductions.
5. No-shows
If you do not arrive at the pickup point and do not contact us or your driver, the booking is treated as a no-show and is non-refundable. Airport pickups are tracked against your flight’s arrival, and your complimentary waiting time applies (see Waiting time) before a no-show is assessed.
6. Waiting time
Every booking includes complimentary waiting time, measured from the agreed pickup time:
- Homes, hotels and other non-airport pickups — 5 minutes
- Domestic airport terminals — 15 minutes
- International airport terminals — 45 minutes
- Cruise-ship terminals — 45 minutes
For airport pickups we track your flight by radar, and your complimentary waiting time begins from the moment the aircraft lands — regardless of any flight delay.
Beyond the complimentary window, waiting is billed in 5-minute increments at the following per-vehicle rates. These rates include GST.
| Vehicle type | Per 5 minutes | Per hour |
|---|---|---|
| Sedan | $7.70 | $92.40 |
| SUV | $8.80 | $105.60 |
| Comfort Electric (EV) | $8.80 | $105.60 |
| Luxury Sedan | $8.80 | $105.60 |
| Luxury Van | $9.08 | $108.90 |
| Premium Van | $11.00 | $132.00 |
We will always let you know when waiting charges are about to apply.
7. Shared shuttle services
Our shuttle services are shared: seating and luggage space are shared with other passengers, and the vehicle used may be a sedan, SUV, van or similar — not necessarily a bus.
Where two or more flights arrive within 35 minutes of each other, we may hold the shuttle so that passengers can travel together. If you are booked on the earlier flight, you agree to wait for passengers from the later arrivals. No refund is payable because a shared shuttle waited in these circumstances. If you are travelling to a tight schedule, please book a private transfer rather than a shuttle.
Shuttle passengers may bring one suitcase and one item of carry-on luggage each. If you need more space, book a van or a private transfer. Where a passenger arrives with more luggage than this, we may not be able to carry it; we will do our best to arrange an alternative vehicle, at your cost, where one is available.
8. Vehicles, luggage & passengers
Please book a vehicle suitable for your group size and luggage. Each vehicle has seat and luggage limits shown at the time of booking.
As a guide, a sedan carries two standard check-in suitcases plus two pieces of carry-on luggage, or one large suitcase plus one set of golf clubs and one soft bag. For safety and transport regulations, suitcases are not carried in the passenger compartment. Excess or oversized luggage may require a larger vehicle or a trailer, at additional cost.
Trailers. A $30 fee applies for the supply of a trailer, subject to availability. Trailers cannot be fitted to sedans or luxury sedans. If a vehicle and trailer arrive and your luggage does not fit because capacity was not discussed beforehand, any additional transport needed is at your cost.
Assistance animals are welcome. Other pets are carried only by prior arrangement, and a blanket or mat must be provided by the passenger.
Seatbelts must be worn by all passengers at all times while the vehicle is in motion, as required by law.
9. Child seats & restraints
Under NSW law, an approved child car seat or restraint is mandatory for children under 7 years of age. As a pre-booked service we are expected to have reasonable notice to fit one, so please tell us at the time of booking if you need a child restraint. As a matter of company policy we require any child under 8 years to travel in an appropriate restraint.
We can supply a child seat or booster when arranged in advance; a fitting fee applies and is shown during booking.
Our drivers will always do their best to help, including assisting with fitting a seat and checking it. That said, whether a child seat is supplied by us or brought by you, ensuring it is correctly installed and that your child is properly and safely harnessed remains the responsibility of the parent, guardian or accompanying passenger. Any help a driver gives is offered as a courtesy and does not transfer that responsibility to us, so please satisfy yourself that the restraint is correctly fitted and your child correctly secured before the trip begins and for its duration.
Where you provide your own restraint, you are responsible for ensuring it complies with NSW standards and is installed and used according to the manufacturer’s instructions. For the child’s safety, and consistent with our legal obligations, we may decline to begin or continue a trip where a child is not, in the driver’s reasonable view, travelling in a compliant and correctly fitted restraint.
10. Conduct & damage
For everyone’s safety and comfort: seatbelts must be worn at all times; there is no smoking or vaping in any vehicle; and food and open drinks are not permitted (sealed water is fine).
Our drivers may refuse or end a trip where a passenger is unsafe, abusive, or in breach of these terms, and may decline to enter a location they reasonably believe is unsafe. Where a trip is refused or ended for these reasons, the booking is non-refundable.
Soiling and damage. You are responsible for any damage caused to the interior or exterior of the vehicle by you or your party through negligence, recklessness or intentional acts, including soiling that requires professional cleaning. In that event you are liable for the actual cost of cleaning or repairs and any reasonable revenue lost while the vehicle is off the road. We will notify you and provide an itemised quote or invoice before any charge is applied.
11. Service, delays & subcontracting
We make reasonable efforts to provide an on-time, safe and comfortable service, but we are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, road conditions, flight changes or other events beyond our reasonable control. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any missed flight, connection or other onward service, or for any resulting loss, damage or cost — including the cost of flights, tickets, accommodation or other arrangements.
We recommend allowing ample time before your flight and holding appropriate travel insurance.
We may subcontract your transfer to a pre-qualified operator, who remains under our supervision for the duration of the booking. We carry public-liability insurance for our operations; this is not travel insurance and does not cover your personal property.
12. Lost property
Please check the vehicle for your belongings before you leave. We are not responsible for items left behind, but we will make reasonable efforts to return found property; return postage or delivery is at your cost.
13. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to those non-excludable rights, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for a transfer is limited to re-supplying the service or refunding the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit.
14. Privacy
We collect and handle personal information (such as your name, contact details, travel details and booking history) only to provide and improve your transport service, and we do not disclose it to third parties except where doing so is necessary to fulfil your booking or is required by law.
Your card details are held by our payment processor, not by us. If you believe information we hold about you is incorrect, contact us and we will correct it.
We may be required to disclose personal information to regulatory authorities or law-enforcement officials in accordance with applicable law.
15. Changes & acceptance
We may amend a booking at your request subject to availability; an amendment fee or fare difference may apply. We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force is the one published here when you make your booking. Confirming a booking with Byron Bay Transfers means you have read and accepted these terms.
